Greetings!  We are glad that you have come to worship the Lord with us!  We live in the world but we are not of the world because of our faith in Jesus Christ.  The message that Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation must never change.  The method in which we declare this message and reach out to others will change over time.  The Word of God is the “meat and potatoes” of the worship service.  The music serves in preparing our hearts to receive God’s Word.  Sometimes the music will reinforce the message or the sermon.  The motivation behind, in and with the worship service is to help people see their need of having a personal relationship with God.  We love the hymns but we also know that the younger generation is attracted to more contemporary songs.  We have been trying something new for the past 6 weeks to reach all ages.  Martin Luther did the same kind of thing 500 years ago.  He introduced the singing of hymns that was new in his day with instruments (organ, piano, accordion, guitar, etc…).  He preached in the language of the people.  He translated the Bible into the German language and promoted that people should know what is in the Bible through reading and studying it.  He wanted families and children to know God, love God and to serve God with their hearts.  It was a change from the way it had been done for many years.  The message remained the same but the method changed to impact lives for Christ.  If lives are not being changed because of Jesus Christ, then we are on the wrong road.
