Greetings on this first Sunday of December!  Today is the first Sunday of Advent, the beginning of what is called the Church Year.  The focus is on preparing for a great event.  There is an expectation of excitement in knowing that God is going to do something wonderful.  When we look at Joseph and Mary, we see this preparation and excitement in the birth of Jesus.  This is not your typical birth!  The wonder of Christmas surrounds the birth of Immanuel, meaning “God with us”.  A message to lost mankind of love, joy, peace and hope.  Jesus Christ comes to seek and save the lost.  Lives will be changed.  It is much like anyone who is preparing for the arrival of a baby.  There are preparations and excitement before the baby comes.  When the baby comes into this world, life will not be the same.  This child will change many things and will need to be changed many times.  There will come a new love, a new joy, a new peace and a new hope that wasn’t there before.  God is good at changing lives and we pray that the Lord will change your heart if He hasn’t done so already!
