Welcome! The solar eclipse last Monday is a good illustration of when Jesus spoke to Peter and said, “You do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men” Matthew 16:23c. Scientists today are still baffled on how the sun exists! In Genesis it’s called Creation. God said, “Let there be light”, and there was light. God made two great lights – the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. The sun and the moon were created by God for the benefit of all life on our planet called Earth. The total eclipse was only 70 miles wide as it crossed the U.S. The shadow of the moon lasted only a couple of minutes and it drew millions of people to travel hundreds, if not, thousands of miles to witness it. One of the responses was, “I am humbled and feel so small.” How many people’s minds went to think about God? How many people felt humbled, small and speechless during and after such an awesome event? Only God knows. Think of what it will be like when Jesus Christ comes again and everyone will see Him without having to wear special glasses. This will be a total global wide event, not just 70 miles wide. Night will be turned into day. God’s Word never fails. Is your mind on the things of God or on the things of man?
